In this workshop, Alejandra explores the traditional Quiche and modern Dreamspell Mayan Calendars and will guide us in understanding both of the Mayan Calendars with their archetypes and our own Mayan signs. Individuals learn to understand the wisdom of the Mayan Calendar and its correlation to the wisdom contained within various ancient myths and religions of the world. In addition to this, students create their own Mayan Synergy Chart and are then guided through its interpretation. Alejandra will perform some of the Readings herself to demonstrate how to proceed with the interpretation of a chart. She provides a full colour workbook with descriptions of the signs compiled from her twelve years of observation of the archetypes as people with real lives. This workbook also serves the participants to further their practice of Mayan Synergy Astrology on their own. Students will receive simple homework assignments to be carried out during the week (between classes) in order to deepen their understanding of this sacred science. The Workshops unfold in a fun and interactive group environment, helpful in bridging information with experience. The intent of this course is to provide a broader perspective for understanding the role of the Mayan Calendar as an invaluable tool for self-development in today's world. The Tzolkin or Mayan Calendar is currently divided into two main tendencies. These are the traditional Quiche interpretation used by the Mayan shamans throughout Guatemala and some regions of Mexico, and the contemporary version known as the Dreamspell channeled by Mayan scholar Jose Aguelles. These two versions of the calendar are divided and rarely do they reconcile in the perspectives of those who practice them. Alejandra’s particular synergy with the Mayan Calendar has developed from insight she received in her dreams as the animal guides of her Mayan signs showed her the power of unification and liberation from boundaries. Thus she understood that the Ancient Quiche Mayan Calendar and the Contemporary vision of it, as expressed in the Dreamspell, are complementary to each other. In this time of change and growth they serve as a tool for our mind/heart to unify the polarities of our current world.
